Whatever progress you can make in eliminating these problems, I'll be very grateful for.2. In addition to the characters having a slight halo, my greatest concern so far is with the tilesets - particularly the autotiles, which sometimes have visible lines along the edges that break up the flow of a map (dunno if this is what you call "fringing"). I don't really like the MV graphics, and so I've been going through and resizing all of the VX Ace graphics, hoping I can ultimately use them to create a game that looks like VX Ace in the MV program (so I can take advantage of its features - particularly cross-platform support and the side-view battle system, although that introduces graphical problems of its own that I haven't confronted yet). I am eagerly anticipating whatever you come up with in terms of eliminating the grey shadows/halo/whatever other artifacts are created by the resizing process. I want to thank you, Ultima2876, for your advice on using waifu2x, and your efforts to improve the results. Then I'll tidy up the interface so you can upload a batch of files (probably with drag and drop) and leave it to go. I also want to add support for tilesets, which is an important addition. Halo removal isn't perfect yet, and also I want to add support for other sheet sizes (including native MV sheets, to give them the same look as resized VX sprites). It makes it a much easier process to just upload your character sheet and immediately download one that is sized for MV.
I'm still working on the halo removal, but it should be an improvement on standard Waifu scaling. It should give you a waifu-style resize but without the 'bleeding over' issues, and hopefully with slightly better results on the 'halo'.
I'll be working on it as and when I find time. This is very much work-in-progress, so please let me know about any and all issues. It takes a few seconds, so be patient! (Also it only supports 384x256 sheets for now, the style that I've posted above in the thread). So you can upload a VX/VX Ace character image and it'll do some magic.
